Discover what makes the Czech capital so magical on this relaxed full day tour of Prague, taking in the sights from the Old Town and the Lesser Quarter, all the way to Prague Castle. Get ready for a serious whistle stop Prague city tour (including a boat ride)!
Start your Prague tour from the Municipal House, the most beautiful Art Nouveau gem in Prague. Make your way to Wenceslas Square, one of Europe’s most famous and historical squares, where you learn from your passionate local guide about some of the decisive moments in Prague history, from the Prague Spring in 1968 to the Velvet Revolution in 1989.
Visit the stalls at the Havelsky Market, which has been a favourite local market since 1232 – not a typo, it really has been around since the 13th century! Wander around the compact Old Town, winding through the narrow alleyways lined with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque churches and palaces. Once in the Old Town Square, check the time at the famous clock, one of the most famous landmarks in Prague.
Explore the unique Prague Jewish Quarter which, unlike most European cities, kept its synagogues during World War II. Learn about the Golem, a legendary ‘superman’ created by Rabbi Low in the 16th century – this Prague walking tour is filled with little quirky stops and nuggets of info like this!
Next on your Prague city tour, you stop at a traditional restaurant in the Old Town for a typical Czech meal (beef or chicken goulash with bread dumplings or fried cheese for vegetarians), and after relaxing over lunch, head to the riverside and hop aboard a replica of a 19th-century sailboat for your cruise down the Vlatva River. This is a great chance to take those perfect Prague photos to take home with you!
Experience this magical landscape of medieval-like scenery while sipping Czech beer, lemonade, or a hot drink. Back on dry land, our walking tour of Prague then meanders across the bridge, stopping to stare up at its many towers and statues and enjoy local artists and bands. As you enter the Little Quarter, jump aboard a local tram to take an uphill ride to Prague Castle. This is the world’s largest castle complex and no visit to Prague is complete without wandering through its magnificent structures!
Here, you can peek inside to view the most beautiful and astonishing cathedral in the country. Learn how Gothic cathedrals were built in the 14th century by means of a medieval crane – and yes, cranes did exist all those years ago!
This Prague tour ends at St. Vitus Cathedral, where we leave you free to further explore sights, and give you tips on which restaurants to visit and secret local spots to call into.

Mr. Nirendra S. from South Africa travelled on 29 May 2018:
Kaca did an amazing job. Her knowledge of the history was great. She also made sure that everyone knew where they were going once the tour had ended.
Mr. Frieda H. from Australia travelled on 24 May 2018:
Kača was excellent! She was extremely knowledgeable about Prague. She shared some stories about growing up in Prague during the tour. The personal memories about major historical events was a bonus. Her gardening background brought a whole new perspective to the tour as well.
Our group had eight people and we all got the chance to talk over a delicious lunch. The walking is nicely broken up by the lunch and the boat ride. We had a wonderful time in a beautiful city with a fabulous guide!
Kača even sent us all an email after the tour with more information about the sites we saw, movies she reccomended, and some recipes ( I can’t wait to try to make the dumplings)! We could not have been happier with our tour.
Mr. MCNAMARA S. from Australia travelled on 23 May 2018:
Tour guide Paula was AMAZING!!!!!!!! Was very intent on giving us all a great day and she really dud
Mr. Allan K. from Canada travelled on 23 May 2018:
This was the most thorough day tour of a city I have been on, which at 6 hours isn’t unexpected. It worked quite well. Between the boat, lunch etc. it was designed to break up the stints where we were on our feet so the tour would not physically be just walking and standing listening all day. It has made me consider finding the longest single day tours I can find in the future. Kaca, our guide, really knew the city and provided personal anecdotes all around the place. The description of everyone in the square shaking their keys together making noise when communism’s time was up was quite vivid.
Mr. Kenneth L. from USA travelled on 11 May 2018:
Mark was an excellent guide – interesting, knowledgeable and fun. We felt lucky to have chosen this tour and to have him as our guide.
Mr. Lorna C. from Canada travelled on 18 Apr 2018:
Kata was excellent, extremly helpful and knowledgable. I have to walk with a cane, she was very considerate of this.
Mr. Larry L. from Australia travelled on 21 Mar 2018:
The small group tour proved to be an excellent way to learn about the city’s history and culture in a relaxed setting. My wife and I took five tours during our trip to Europe and Prague Urban Adventures was decidedly the most enjoyable. Additionally, Saša was the best guide we had by a very wide margin. I would definitely recommend this outing to others, particularly if Saša is the guide.
Mr. Steven G. from USA travelled on 05 Mar 2018:
Sasha did a fabulous job. I highly recommend him !
Mr. Nicholas B. from Australia travelled on 26 Jan 2018:
This was a great tour, very informative and I got to see and do things I wouldn’t have done by myself.
Ms. Maria F. from United Arab Emirates travelled on 19 Oct 2017:
The tour was fantastic. Our guide, Tereza, provided interesting information which gave a picture of how politics, religion, behaviour and geography shaped the history of Czech Republic. She was caring and fun.
Mr. Virginia M. from Australia travelled on 08 Oct 2017:
Pavla made the tour really exciting. Her enthusiasm of the history of Prague shone through. I also enjoyed the way she pointed out authentic local experiences that we could indulge. The meal was great as was the boat trip. Pavla went out of her way to make sure I could return to explore, in depth, sights and also use the local metro transport system.
Mrs. Jayne T. from Australia travelled on 02 Oct 2017:
Our guide Sascha made this a great day for us all. His high level communication skills and personal warmth created a lovely dynamic in our group. I valued his knowledge of Prague and its history and his excellent humour. Thank you
Mr. Alan B. from USA travelled on 17 Sep 2017:
Micheala was awesome
Ms. Barbara Rae R. from USA travelled on 14 Sep 2017:
We had a wonderful day with Mark, our guide from New Orleans, who was humorous and light-hearted.
Mark picked a great restaurant (we had the pork knuckle and goulash), gave tons of great tips. Hung onto our group even after the 6 hours and offered to escort people back to Old Town after the tour. I love how courteous and considerate he was toward the locals.
Thanks for a great day! Great ambassador for Urban Adventures.
Ms. Marion N. from United Kingdom travelled on 22 Jul 2017:
Mark was an oustanding tour guide with a great knowledge of Prague, its traditions and History. Mark made the tour very entertaining and he answered every question that we had. Another 10/10 for Urban adventure and Intrepid Travel tours!
Mr. Megan O. from USA travelled on 24 Jun 2017:
Honestly, I didn’t know how such a long tour could FLY by! Tereza was so well informed, enthusiastic, friendly, and her tour was perfectly timed! We arrived at every point at just the right moment. The tour included walking, a boat ride, and a metro rail ride throughout Prague and the sights and it’s history were remarkable. We had an intimate lunch the included all our our questions answered and Tereza even helped other couples make personal reservations for intimate dinners and other plans made for their trips in Prague. The tour was also followed up with Tereza sending pictures via email of our time together. I would recommend this tour to anyone, and if you can book it with Tereza, you’ll enjoy it all the more!!
Mr. Jan B. from Australia travelled on 19 Jun 2017:
Kaca a great guide and my time with the group was a learning experience to see the city my father walked though as a young man.
Mr. Don M. from Australia travelled on 26 May 2017:
Guide Vascec?? was great. Knowledgeable, ensured slower older lady was included all the time. Caring without making it obvious.

Mrs. Trish B. from Australia travelled on 01 May 2017:
We enjoyed our first Urban adventure and our guide Misa was so informative and professional and enthusiastic.
Would highly recommend this tour and if anyone is going to Prague Misa is the perfect guide to introduce this amazing city !
Ms. Carolyn S. from USA travelled on 24 Apr 2017:
I took the walking daybtour and the beer tasting tour. Both Misha and Kaca were excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend their tours to anyone.
Mr. Heather H. from Australia travelled on 08 Apr 2017:
Fantastic and comprehensive tour from extremely knowledgeable, kind, and fun tour guides! They easily accommodated our group ranging in age from 12 to 80. This was the best tour I’ve been on and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city.
Mr. Katheryn H. from USA travelled on 31 Mar 2017:
Katsa was a wonderful tour guide — so knowledgeable about the history and culture of Prague. We were intrigued by the fact that she lived in Prague while it was under communist rule. Our day with Katsa was probably the best day we had while on our 2-week trip through Eastern Europe!
Ms. Caitlin B. from Australia travelled on 25 Mar 2017:
I was so very impressed with Tereza in Prague. She was excited, always looking for opportunities to improve (not that she needs to improve), so full of knowledge, so kind and happy. I can’t speak highly enough of this tour, as it was a perfect end to our time in Prague.
Ms. theresa l. from Germany travelled on 23 Feb 2017:
I am unsure how we could top the discovery tour of Prague with Katya on Sunday. We were so lucky that there were just 3 of us as it seemed like we were seeing the sights with a friend. Katya was warm, exceptionally informed about Prague history, steeped in a patriotism for her country unlike anyone I have ever met and unbelievably generous with personal details that enriched our tour a hundred-fold. Having used another tour company for a trip to Terezin the day before, I can safely attest that Urban Adventure has it right. This was my second experience with Urban (previously in lower East side of NYC) and I when I make my next trip to an unfamiliar city, there will be no other option for the best introduction and understanding of a new place.
Ms. Tuen Man C. from Japan travelled on 22 Feb 2017:
A great tour with lots of awesome information about the city. Perfect for those who’ve just stepped foot in Prague with little knowledge of the history behind it. 🙂 The food was lovely!
Mr. Graham M. from United Kingdom travelled on 18 Feb 2017:
Thank you, we had a wonderful day and learned so much. It was a great way to start our holiday.
Mrs. Kristen K. from USA travelled on 21 Jan 2017:
This tour was PERFECT! Tereza was an INCREDIBLE guide! Seriously I cannot recommend this tour enough. We will definitely be doing another Urban Adventures Tour on our next trip! Thank you for showing us Prague and making our honeymoon perfect!
Mr. Paul N. from United Kingdom travelled on 02 Jan 2017:
Tereza was really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Great trip.
Mr. Joel S. from USA travelled on 16 Nov 2016:
Tereza was a wonderful guide, very personable. Would have been lost without her. See my review on Trip Advisor.
Mr. Brad B. from Canada travelled on 01 Nov 2016:
Great guide with lots of info
Mrs. Ruth W. from Australia travelled on 30 Oct 2016:
Tour with Kaca exceeded our expectations. She was a warm, friendly lady with a vast knowledge of both the historical and social history of Prague. We were the only two people on the nand she was keen to know what we were interested in so she could ensure she covered these areas alongside the tour itinerary. We felt very at ease with her as she felt more like a companion than a guide – but was efficient ensuring that we saw a vast number of interesting sights and were very well informed of the history that has made Prague the amazing city it is today. Thank you so much Kaca – you made our visit so special!
Mrs. Kate Y. from USA travelled on 22 Sep 2016:
Katya was a wonderful guide. She told us many interesting historical facts and it was so amazing that she had personal experiences of her and her mother, being right there during events such as the end of Communism in Prague. It really made us think. She made sure I knew where I was going when the tour was over and I appreciated that, being a solo traveler. I wish I could have spent more time in Prague, but taking this tour with Katya was the best decision I made while there.
Mrs. Kristin S. from USA travelled on 21 Sep 2016:
Kaca was awesome. She was so friendly and knowledgeable. We learned a great deal about history, culture and politics in Prague and the Czech Republic. Kaca was full of great stories and details about every stop on the tour. She also really personalized the tour by sharing several of her own personal experiences related to major historical events that took place at various points of interest.
Additionally, Kaca did a great job answering any follow-up questions we had along the tour, and she was extremely helpful and enthusiastic in answering questions related to everyday life (e.g. how to get a tram ticket, find a concert, book a train to another city, etc.). I strongly recommend having a tour with Kaca — she was great!
Outside of Kaca’s control, I recommend ditching the boat portion of the tour. It felt gimmicky and corny. And everything you saw while on the boat, you also saw on foot. The tour takes stamina, both physically and mentally, and would be better if it was shortened a bit. Skipping the boat ride would make it just right.
Ms. Meredith A. from Poland travelled on 22 Jul 2016:
By chance my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to score a private tour with Niki. We had an amazing time. He was very enthusiastic and super knowledgeable about the city and history of Prague. As we traveled through the city, Niki took us to hidden gems and included facts that are not otherwise included in a traditional tour. We thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent on the tour and loved how it was broken up with a short boat ride and a yummy lunch at a local restaurant. Niki’s passion for the city was very evident, we highly recommend this tour!!
Mr. Thomas A. from USA travelled on 14 Jul 2016:
Only our second Urban Adventure but both were GREAT experiences, fantastic staff, good group of people to enjoy the tour with, always unique food and drink and history. I recommend Urban Adventures, and especially Tereza in Prague to all our friends and even strangers that we meet!
Mr. steven k. from USA travelled on 30 Jun 2016:
Urban Adventures is the best way to see Prague! This was my second tour with the company and it was most fortunate to have the superstar of guides, the incredibly passionate, and the most knowledgeable, Nikki as our friend and guide. He should teach others how to give clients such a wonderful, memorable, and enriching experience. Hopefully I will see you all next summer which would be my 5th visit to CZ.
Mrs. Wendy F. from Australia travelled on 07 Jun 2016:
Our guide Teresa was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and considerate. She made the experience interesting and fun.
Ms. cynthia w. from USA travelled on 04 May 2016:
Our guide, Misha, was charming and personable and truly showed off her city well
We had a great day
Mr. John L. from Australia travelled on 30 Apr 2016:
Tereza was our outstanding guide. We can’t say enough about how gracious, personable, knowledgeable, and professional she was. She sold us on future Urban Adventures and set the bar high for our expectations.
Ms. Barbara T. from USA travelled on 26 Apr 2016:
Our guide, Tereza, was fantastic – knowledgable, excited about Prague, patient with our questions, and a delight to be with! The pacing was great – at the end of 6 hours, I just wished the tour had been longer! Lots to see in a wonderful city!
Mr. Jenny K. from Australia travelled on 24 Mar 2016:
This was an excellent day made even more enjoyable by Nic. He expressed his passion for Prague and his job through fluent articulate speech. I would definitely recommend him to friends & family.
Mr. Joseph M. from USA travelled on 17 Mar 2016:
Theresa was extraordinarily. She is knowledgeable, friendly, funny, and has a good heart. She helped us with places to eat and see that were outstanding. I highly recommend her and would request her for our next trip to the area.
Ms. Megan B. from USA travelled on 26 Feb 2016:
Niki did a fantastic job!

Mr. Michael L. from United Kingdom travelled on 28 Dec 2015:
Guide was fantastic, city was amazing.
Mr. Laura M. from Australia travelled on 07 Dec 2015:
Our single day tour of Prague was clearly one of the highlights of our trip! The guide was informative and engaging, which make the day a truly delightful experience. We will look for Urban Adventures in other cities during our future travels!
Mr. Mayank B. from United Kingdom travelled on 18 Nov 2015:
Our Guide, Michaela, was absolutely amazing. Excellent combination of knowledge and fun. The tour was done at our pace. Inspite of the fact we were walking all day, we didn’t really feel tired as we had regular breaks such as the Boat Trip, Lunch and the tram ride up the hill to Prague Castle.
Michaela surely knows going the extra mile as she not only enriched us with knowledge about history, myths and legends of Prague and its attractions, but also gave us valuable tips on where to eat, do shopping, places to visit (excluding the tour) and where to stay away from.
One of the best days we have ever had…
5 star rating for our 5 star guide 🙂
Mr. Maddy C. from Austria travelled on 07 Nov 2015:
Nikki was awesome! Best guide in Prague! He knew so much, I suggested he should be a college professor!
Mrs. Sarah A. from United Kingdom travelled on 13 Oct 2015:
Excellent tour headed up by Nikki who went the extra mile on everything from the booking (he laid on an extra group for us as the existing one was full when we wanted to go), to his expert knowledge, patience and deep understanding of the history of Prague, which he shared with us all. I will recommend this tour to any of our friends and associates who go to Prague in future. Thanks Nikki.
I am happy for you to post my comments, but please make them anonymous – thanks
Ms. Este O. from South Africa travelled on 07 Oct 2015:
Pete did and excellent Introduction to Prague. The highlights were definitely the boat trip (free beer) and lunch! We used all the iconic methods of transport, had some great views of the city and discovered the local culture and history. We even stuck around the astronomical clock for the movement on the hour! Pete also gave excellent suggestions of places to see the next day and helped me to buy tickets for the blacklight theatre that night. Great guide making the experience even better!
Mr. Robert H. from Australia travelled on 08 Aug 2015:
Our guide welcomed us as we approached him, after introductions he explained how the day would be spent and checked that we were comfortable in what we were wearing. That we had fluid as it was likely to be a very warm day. Ample time for photographs, questions, soaking up the environment and time to absorb the history. We had a thoroughly fun filled day, the variety of the walk, boat trip, lunch, tram ride all added to the day. By the end of the day the guide felt more of a friend.
Mr. David M. from Australia travelled on 25 May 2015:
Niki was just a really great guide – gentle, informative, sensitive, with a good sense of humour. He related well to the whole group and nothing was too much trouble for him. He happily answered all questions thrown at him. We would love to do another tour with him next time we are in Prague.
Mr. William M. from USA travelled on 22 May 2015:
Tereza is an excellant guide and she provided a wonderful experience for us in Prague.
Mr. Terence J. from Australia travelled on 13 May 2015:
We did 2 tours – beer & tapas with Travis and the 6 hour Prague walking tour with Tereza. Both were great tours and great tour guides. The small group size makes a huge difference. Booked both via Viator. Thank you
Mr. Stefan C. from Australia travelled on 10 May 2015:
Alina! Alina! Alina! My wife and I were the only two people on the Prague Discovery tour (it was a Monday). We were lucky to have the extremely knowledgeable Alina as our personal guide through Prague. She was able to accommodate our interests into the tour, recommending a variety of places to visit after the tour was over.
While the official end of the day was supposed to be at the lookout at the Castle Alina was headed home in the same direction so contributed to guide down the hill and said goodbye on the tram! Her love for her city was obvious. Many thanks.
Ms. Tonya C. from USA travelled on 23 Apr 2015:
Alena was an amazing tour guide. I had a fabulous day with her and learned a lot!
Mrs. Narelle C. from Australia travelled on 12 Dec 2014:
We had a truly great experience on our walking our of Prague. We covered every interesting part of the city & enjoyed wonderful local cuisine in an authentic local restaurant. On top of seeing all the essential sights, the valuable part of he tour was the insight into the historical & cultural side of Prague & its citizens from a local who had experienced the emergence of this country from behind the iron curtain. Our guide, Terese was excellent & we can’t recommend this tour & Terese highly enough.
Mr. Nick T. from United Kingdom travelled on 13 Nov 2014:
Katy was an excellent guide who was able to show me the best of Prague’s history in an interesting and informative way. Her choice of lunch restaurant was also perfect and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day.
Mrs. Janice B. from United Kingdom travelled on 18 Oct 2014:
Nicky was a fabulous guide. Well informed who put over the information in a very interesting manner. He gave us plenty info to follow up on and we enjoyed our next day because he gave us some suggestions of things to do.
Mr. Henry Z. from USA travelled on 04 Oct 2014:
Katy(?)as outstanding She was knowledgeable and managed the small group well mixing with everyone and answering questions even about issues (Restaraunts, trams pharmacy) etc) in Prague not directly related to the tour. The small group (12) is the only way to go. We saw groups of 50 + on what were supposedly tours. More like herds of cattle with as much time gathering the group than the actual tour. And the people were complaining that they couldn’t hear. Prague does not lend itself to those size groups. We did it right Urban Adventures and Katy was the way to go. We will be back!!!
Mr. Marc M. from USA travelled on 17 Sep 2014:
Linda did a super job!
Knowledgeable, patient, excellent communicator!
Will recommend Urban Adventures to our friends!
Mr. Reece G. from Australia travelled on 04 Mar 2014:
The tour was amazing! we got to see so much of the city in just one day. Our guide Katerina Janouskova was so friendly, felt like we had known her a long time. She made the tour fun and interesting, unlike many other guides who just seem to know and read the facts of a sheet. I feel she had a genuine interest and passion for her city, and it made the tour that much better. Katerina helped us with other things like, showing us how the trams work and places to eat. I will always have a guided tour of each city I travel to now, because it has been such a wonderful and interesting experience.
Mr. Peter O. from United Kingdom travelled on 29 Sep 2012:
Cannot fault any part of it. Teresa was there well before time and set straight into explaining the itinerary, history and culture. The tour took in both the main tourist attractions/sites, but also went to see some of the quirky things off the beaten track. Excellent trip and full value for money. It gave me the overview for the next few days of my time in Prague and so helped with sorting out my own itinerary.
